The thing I love most about weddings is dealing with each & every situation that’s thrown at me and then the huge sense of accomplishment I get at the end of every wedding knowing I’ve made a couples’ day as stress free and perfect as I possibly can.
Wayne is responsible for the smooth running of all operational aspects of the business. He has over 20 years’ experience at a senior level, managing venues and catering for discerning clients all over East Anglia. His unflappable nature and keen attention to detail means he is always working to ensure your day goes exactly as planned.
I’ve loved seeing Houchins grow into what it is today. Although playing a more casual role within the team due to starting a family I remain an integral part of the wedding team and am just as passionate and excited about Houchins as when I first started in 2014 and started showing couples around.
My first introduction to planning a wedding was my own here at Houchins, almost 4 years ago! I loved it so much that I decided to come back and work here. Since then I have planned many weddings with lots of lovely couples.

Having worked in finance departments for nearly 30 years in various industries, I have to say the wedding industry is by far the nicest!
I deal with all the financial aspects so whilst we may never meet, we would have had plenty of communication from the initial booking stage through to your final bar bill on the evening of your big day.
Although I don’t get too involved in planning and managing the weddings at Houchins I love showing couples around and trying to envisage the day that they have planned or are starting to plan. It’s such an exciting journey from show round to wedding and marketing Houchins is really great fun.
Prior to getting involved in the wedding industry Adam spent 20 years working in advertising, marketing and general management. Since opening Dove Barn in 2002 he has developed a passion for weddings in particular and hospitality in general. His criteria for a successful event is judged on the smiles on the faces of clients leaving his venues.
Anna is an artist, florist and general stylist. Before moving to Suffolk she worked as a party designer for The Admirable Crichton in London. She is responsible for all design aspects of the venue, the house and garden.

Houchins is located in Essex, just 1 mile east of Coggeshall, with direct access from the A120. It is approximately 15 minutes from Colchester and Braintree.
