Houchins, the award winning wedding venue with boutique accommodation in its Grade 2* listed farmhouse is looking for a house-keeping team leader to take on this busy and important role.
Due to the COVID pandemic putting a stop to most weddings in 2020 there is huge pent up demand for weddings and we will be extremely busy once restrictions start to be lifted. We expect this to be from mid-April 2021.
Houchins consists of a converted barn venue that caters for up to 160 guests and accommodation in 8 bedrooms for 16 people.
The venue aims to do 100 weddings each year. The workload is seasonal with the busiest period being July-September but weddings and events go on throughout the year. January to March is the quietest time of year.

The right candidate be will a reliable self-starter, happy to work alone when necessary and used to working under pressure and at anti-social times of the day. He/she will take pride in ensuring the house and venue are in tip top condition every day so that each couple feels ‘special’ on arrival.

Houchins is looking for a Bar Manager to be responsible for the efficient and smooth running of the bar at Houchins wedding venue. After the postponement of so many 2020 weddings due to COVID we expect to be extremely busy from late Spring.
The right candidate will be responsible for operating and managing all aspects of the bar for the up-coming 2021 wedding season and beyond. Previous experience in the weddings market is a benefit but not essential.
Key roles and responsibilities:
The right candidate will have previous experience in hospitality and bar services, be an enthusiastic team player, with a commitment to delivering service excellence to each and every one of our couples. He or she will have an easy going manner and be flexible enough to get involved in all aspects of operating a busy, award winning wedding venue.
We are particularly busy during May to the end of September and there will be certain times when you will be required to work longer than our usual core operating hours.
We will discuss options for how you will be able to help Houchins meet this business requirement which may include time off in lieu, flexible or annualised hours. A competitive salary awaits the right candidate.
